Development

2004
The Ecoparc association is laying the foundations for the initiative as part of the "Sustainable Management Network" of the Arc Jurassien (Suisse).

2005
The EcoEntreprise® programme is launched, consisting of a checklist and certification. It is quickly expanded and is seen as a response to companies' need for simple and pragmatic tools for self-assessment, management and upgrading that are recognised by business and the authorities.

2008
The project expands. Ecoparc founds the start-up company Globalité Management, which takes care of the operational, day-to-day management and further development of the EcoEntreprise® programme, while Ecoparc remains its owner as a non-profit, independent and neutral association.

2010
The ISO 26000 guidelines deal with social responsibility and are published by ISO after a long period of preparation. The document provides a valuable standardisation basis for consolidating sustainable development and social responsibility. It is intended as a supplement to various other existing initiatives (GRI, Global Compact, etc.) and inspires EcoEntreprise to further developments.

2012
The Rio+20 international conference is focussing on the topic of "Green economy in the context of sustainable development", which calls for the integration of sustainable development into economic activity.

2013
Following a complete revision in collaboration with numerous partners and after several consultations with a network of experts, the EcoEntreprise programme, version 2013 (checklist and certifications), is now applicable for the whole of Switzerland. It will still be adapted to different types of companies, in particular due to the modular approach and the integration of social responsibility. The Swiss Association for Standardisation SNV is responsible for dissemination in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino, Globalité Management in French-speaking Switzerland.
